HUNGER, INC FOOD COLLECTION
Thanks to all who donated canned fruit in February making it possible to deliver 135 pounds of fruit to Hunger, Inc.  As usual, they were thrilled with the items collected.  Also, they informed us that the donations from the Meijer's Simply Give Food Drive totaled $53,400.  So, thanks again for supporting that effort and being the hands and feet of Jesus for others.
For March we are collecting cans of tuna on Thursday, March 3, through Sunday, March 6.
There are two additional ways you can help with hunger in Indianapolis. The first is a Chili Dinner hosted at Center UMC on Bluff Rd.   This Kiwanis Club of Perry Township Fund Raiser for Hunger Inc. is Friday, March 4, from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  It is a Chili and Cornbread Dinner to benefit the Hunger, Inc. Food Pantry. The second way you can help is by donating food and paper goods for our Fletcher Place Food Drive.

FLETCHER PLACE FOOD DRIVE
Again this year we our supporting the Fletcher Place Food Pantry by collecting food items and paper goods beginning the end of March and continuing until April 17.  Bring your donations when you see the Food Drive sign in the Gathering Place.  This is our church’s month to fill the shelves at the pantry so that hundreds of people can be fed.

Southport United Methodist Church and Boy Scout Troop 39 and Pack 39 are working together on this effort. Fletcher Place Community Center services the Southside of Indianapolis and is located in the Fountain Square Area.
