United Methodist Women




 The United Methodist Women's (UMW) groups are meeting in March to continue our  pledge to  "MAKE IT HAPPEN." 

 The event in March that we would like to invite all women to attend is the
"Women's Day Out With Women of the Bible.” 
The date is Saturday, March 5,  from 9-3.  The famous group called Hearts In Service (HIS)  will be leading us through a day filled with stimulating conversations around women in the Bible.   Come join us for this great day and bring a friend.  Call the church for a RSVP and child care. 

The UMW groups will be meeting in March to continue our pledge and prayer and self-denial programs.   Also come hear about our Reading Program.  We have some really great books to read this year to keep us up on the most recent topics affecting children and women.

The groups meet on the following dates:
      
            Rebekah Circle ----2nd Tuesday of each month---Southport Church at                 7 p.m. (March 8)
   
            Anna Circle---3rd Monday of each month---Rosegate Community on                     Emerson Ave.       
                At 1:00 p.m. (March 14)

            Leah Circle-----3rd Tuesday of most months---Southport Church at              6:30 p.m. (March 15th)

Dear Friends,            I am excited about the many things that are happening at Southport UMC this month.   There are many things going on at Southport UMC as we continue in ministry to the Southside of Indianapolis, but I would like to highlight a few opportunities, as well as share some information about changes that are coming this month. First of all, because of storm damage we are getting a new roof. This work will begin after September 8 and will take around a week to complete (weather permitting). Secondly, we will begin signups for Journey Groups this month, and I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to grow in your faith through a small group. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
