INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK
Serving homeless families September 23 - October 7
…..Provide a DINNER MEAL and eat with our guests, feeding their bodies and their spirits 
…..DRIVE THE IHN VAN delivering families to the center downtown in the morning or returning them to church in the evening.
…..Be a HOST for the evening or overnight, being present while our guests rest

…..Additional options: SHOP for groceries, help SET UP on the 23rd or CLEAN UP on the 7th, or LAUNDER linens for the next IHN rotation
If this is a new ministry to you, don’t miss a great opportunity to be involved in outreach to children and adults who are struggling with life challenges. Talk with an IHN team member at the ministry table in September.

You can be more involved by serving on Sunday mornings in the following ways:
…..Greet prior to the 11:15 worship service
…..Usher for the 10:00 worship service
…..Usher for the 11:15 worship service

Dear Friends,            I am excited about the many things that are happening at Southport UMC this month.   There are many things going on at Southport UMC as we continue in ministry to the Southside of Indianapolis, but I would like to highlight a few opportunities, as well as share some information about changes that are coming this month. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
