A Serve Update June 2013
Have you seen the recent publication of the SUMC SERVE Ministries Brochure? It includes a listing of Serve/Connectional Ministries and Serve/Communal Ministries.
A Serve/Connectional Ministry team allows others to connect to God through Jesus Christ by
· Supporting the discipleship path and encouraging team members to
Connect/Grow/Serve
· Promoting a Christ-centered theology
· Being intentional about making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the
transformation of the world.
· Being hospitable to guests
A few examples of Serve/Connectional Ministries are Children’s Ministry, Greeter/Guest Services, Community Fall Festival, Ushers and Vacation Bible School.
A Serve/Communal Ministry team serves in ways that reach out to the community so that others might connect to God through Jesus Christ by:

· Ministering to the needs of the community
A few examples of Serve/Communal Ministries are God’s Workers, God’s Will Breakfast, Jubilee Christmas, Loving Hearts Helping Hands, Rest Area Ministry and Upper Sand Mountain Mission Trip.
The brochure lists these and additional Serve ministries with a brief explanation of each. There is also a tear-off page to indicate ministries in which you are interested in. After returning it to the church office, you will be contacted so that we may answer your questions and assist you with a Serve opportunity. Brochures are available from the church office.
