Journey Groups COMING SOON!



We are signing up for fall Journey Groups in September.  Journey Groups are an excellent way to grow in your faith, help others on their journey, as well as providing a place to practice sharing your faith story with others.
Sign up and join one of these Journey Groups today!  For more information, pick up a catalog or visit the Journey Group table in the Gathering Place.
· SUMC Leadership Class – starts Tuesday 9/23/14, 7:00 p.m., 5 sessions
· Being a Disciple:  Counting the Cost – starts Tuesday 10/13/14, 7:00 p.m., 6 sessions
· The Holy Spirit (discussion from the sermon series) – starts Wednesday 10/1/14,         10:00 a.m., 5 sessions
· Hearing God:  Developing a Conversational Relationship with God – starts Tuesday 9/30/14, 6:00 p.m. (bring your “sack” supper), 6 sessions, meets every other Tuesday
· Jesus Among Other Gods – starts Wednesday 10/29/14, 7:00 p.m., 4 sessions
· The Family of Jesus – Monday Women’s Bible Study – starts Monday 9/22/14, 7:00 p.m.,  6 sessions
· Birds in My Mustard Tree:  How to Grow Your Faith – starts Monday 9/22/14, 7:00 p.m.,   6 sessions
· The Daniel Plan
Starting Monday 10/6/14, 7:00 p.m., 6 sessions, every other week
Starting Saturday 10/4/14, 10:00 a.m., 6 sessions, every other week
On Tuesday 11/4/14 at 6:30 p.m., we will have a one session class called “Play as Learning” conducted by Child Care Answers.  All parents are welcome to come and learn the importance of play in a child’s learning.  (And you will get to play, too!)

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
