Through HEALTH MINISTRY you can  share the “gift of life” at our next BLOOD DRIVE  Sunday, November 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gathering Place. You can register at the Next Steps table November 13/16 and 20/23. A Health Ministry leader will be glad to answer any questions you may have about blood donations

Fall Kairos Weekend Volunteers Soon to be Trained

Since 2012, a significant number of people from SUMC have been involved in Kairos Prison Ministry.  Some have also been or currently are weekend leaders, state officials, and even an international officer. In October and November, there are many opportunities to serve, both inside and outside the prison walls.  Team formation is in the process for three inside facilities where SUMC members serve.  The first is Indiana Women’s Prison, October 3-6, followed a week later by Plainfield Correctional Facility for men, October 10-13.  A third is Rockville Correctional Facility (women) October 31-November 3. There will be a ministry table at church July 11 and 14 as well as August 22 and 25.  Check those out to find all the different ways to serve as well as how to sign up to attend a closing. Servant's Heart of Indy

Servant's Heart of Indy is a local food pantry and thrift store serving the people, primarily in the Beech Grove and Perry Township region. There is an opportunity for service with this organization. Although they are normally open to serve clients Thursday evenings and Saturdays fro 9 am to 2 pm, there is a team of workers headed up by SUMC members that work the second Saturday of every month. Team members are not obligated to work every month or even the entire work shift. The more members we have in the team the less demand it puts on each member.  Team members only work when they are available.  Since some team members have moved from the area, we are looking to add team members. Interested people can take a tour of the pantry and meet with team leaders if they are interested in volunteering or just seeking further information.
