THE CRIME OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING



The United Methodist Women are hosting a "Human Trafficking" event on Saturday, March 4, 2017. We will welcome columnist Tim Swarens from the Indianapolis Star for a presentation and discussion of Human Trafficking and how we as Christians can show our support for the work being done to combat this horrific crime. Presentation and discussion will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Gathering Place and is open to women and men, adults and youth.

Rebekah Circle meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Anna Circle meets on the 3rd Monday of each month.
Leah Circle meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month beginning in March.


FOOD DRIVE MINISTRY

In support of Hunger Inc., a Perry Township food pantry, we collect food items on the same Thursday and Sunday that communion is served at church.  "We come to be fed and we feed others."

March - Cans of Tuna

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
