STUDENT MINISTRY STUFF


The following is information to know for Student Ministry.

· June 3 – graduating 5th graders (going into 6th grade in the next school year) join us for study on Sunday mornings in the Underground.

· June 3, 12:15 – lunch and the Mayberry Bible study for Youth Group.  Families invited and encouraged to attend.

· June 17 – 12:15 Youth Group (students only)

· July 1 – worship at Camp Moneto – no Youth Group

· July 15 – pool party (time to-be-determined)

· August 5, 12:15 – lunch and the Mayberry Bible study for Youth Group.  Families invited and encouraged to attend.

· August 19 – 12:15 Youth Group (students only)

The Creation Care team would like to thank all of SUMC as a part of the team by continuing to recycle at SUMC.  We are always wanting our church to love God's creation and respect it by being Earth conscious.   The Indy Green Congregations newsletter for January can be found at:    greencong1@gmail.com    Check out all the opportunities available on this site.  EX:   They are offering workshops on how to work your soil up for the Spring (which I hope comes soon) and other opportunities.  Their next meeting is February on the third Thursday.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
