A Letter from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,

I am very excited about rekindling our J.O.Y on Thursday, September 5 and Sunday,
September 8.  If you don’t know, J.O.Y. stands for Jesus, Others and You.  On this
Sunday we are going to re-focus.  We are going to ask the Holy Spirit to set our hearts
afire with love for Jesus, others and for one another.

There are some exciting things planned for worship that day.  On Thursday,
September 5 we will be having special refreshments.  Worship is being planned with
some new things to add some zest and energy.

On Sunday, September 8, at 8:15 the choir will be back off the summer break.  The
choir always adds so much to our traditional worship at 8:15. Some fresh ways to
present the worship will be employed in the worship service that day.  I don’t want to
share too much because I don't want to spoil the effect for that morning.  Let it suffice
to say that it will be inspirational and meaningful.

At 9:45 the children from that hour of children’s church will sing and share with us
their enthusiasm for praising God.  This service will be filled with energy and
excitement as usual.

At 11:15 the children from that hour of children’s church will sing along with the
Imagination Station preschool children. Just as at 9:45, this service will be filled with
energy and excitement.

The following will happen for all the worship services:
· Celebration of Holy Communion
· A presentation of an art gallery of the drawings of children from Imagination Station in the Gathering Area.  The drawings will be around the theme, “What makes God smile?”
· Fellowship meal for Sunday morning and special refreshments for Thursday evening service.

It is my hope and prayer that each of you will be present for one of our worship services on September 5 and 8.  It is also my hope and prayer that you will take this opportunity to   invite friends, neighbors and others to come to worship on that day.

Let’s look forward to rekindling our J.O.Y.!

In Christ’s Abundant Love,
Pastor Mark
