SUMC small group Circles meet on the following dates:
Rebekah Circle - Tuesday, March 13, 1:00 p.m. at Church in the Gathering Place
Anna Circle - Monday, March 19, 1:00 p.m. at Rosegate in the dining area
Leah Circle - first meeting of the year for a Pledge Service, Tuesday, March 20, 6:30 p.m. at China Garden Restaurant located by the church.
Other March events are:

World Day Of Prayer - March 2, Friday at 10:00 a.m., Center United Methodist Church on Bluff Rd.

Collaborative Luncheon with Judge Sarah Barker-Evans speaking and hosted by Church Women United. This includes a pitch-in with salads and bread, Friday, March 23 from       11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at North UMC. Being a "green" group we bring our own table service, drinks (coffee, iced tea, lemonade and water) are provided. Car-pooling is available if you contact the church.

Legislative Day at Southport UMC - Thursday March 8, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
2018 Legislative & Advocacy Day - Topic:  Criminalization of Communities of Color

Lunch provided --$10.

The Creation Care team would like to thank all of SUMC as a part of the team by continuing to recycle at SUMC.  We are always wanting our church to love God's creation and respect it by being Earth conscious.   The Indy Green Congregations newsletter for January can be found at:    greencong1@gmail.com    Check out all the opportunities available on this site.  EX:   They are offering workshops on how to work your soil up for the Spring (which I hope comes soon) and other opportunities.  Their next meeting is February on the third Thursday.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
