HOMECROFT ELEMENTARY PARTNERSHIP – NEWS!

Homecroft Hustle Coming Soon! - On September 12, the Homecroft Elementary PTA will host its second annual Homecroft Hustle run-a-thon to help fund school events. Students will collect pledges and then run laps at school to raise money.  All money raised will go directly to the school.  How can you help? 

1.  Volunteer on the 12th…cheer on the kids and help with logistics…it's FUN!
2.  Purchase small gift cards/items that can be given as prizes to the runners….deliver them to the church office by Monday 9/9 marked “Homecroft Hustle Donation”
3.  Become a sponsor….businesses/organizations donating $50 or more will get their logo on the Homecroft Hustle backpack!  Inexpensive advertising!
4.  Sponsor a student runner!  If you don't know a Homecroft student, we can find you one!

Remember, there are other ways you can help our partnership with Homecroft:
Be a mentor at the Homecroft After School Achievers club.  It starts 9/19.
Be a HOPE (Help Our Pupils Excel) mentor during school hours.
Most importantly, PRAY for the students and teachers and our relationship with them.

Dear Friends,            I am excited about the many things that are happening at Southport UMC this month.   There are many things going on at Southport UMC as we continue in ministry to the Southside of Indianapolis, but I would like to highlight a few opportunities, as well as share some information about changes that are coming this month. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
