IHN FALL CLOTHING DRIVE



 We have an opportunity to help now by supporting the Family Promise Fall Clothing Drive.  We are collecting gently used clothing from October 19-26.  Clothing ONLY - no shoes or household items can be accepted at this time. SUMC donations will be delivered to the Day Center on October 27. Goodwill Industries will give vouchers to Family Promise so IHN guests and Aftercare clients can shop and choose what clothing sizes they need for their families. 

Fall is here and it is a great time to clean out your closets and bring those no longer needed, gently used clothing items to the church for the Family Promise Clothing Drive. Please bring your clothing donations, in white kitchen trash bags if possible, and place them under the coat area in the hallway leading to the east wing from October 19-26.

Dear Friends,            I am excited about the many things that are happening at Southport UMC this month.   There are many things going on at Southport UMC as we continue in ministry to the Southside of Indianapolis, but I would like to highlight a few opportunities, as well as share some information about changes that are coming this month. First of all, because of storm damage we are getting a new roof. This work will begin after September 8 and will take around a week to complete (weather permitting). ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
