PRISON MINISTRY AT IWP June 1-4
Five women from church will be joining many others from Kairos Prison Ministry serving at the Indianapolis Women’s Prison this first weekend of June. Please pray for all women involved, servants and those who are incarcerated asking that Jesus’ grace and love be communicated so lives can be transformed. 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL June 13, 14, 15
For three mornings beginning Tuesday, June 13, the church will become a campout where   children experience how Jesus’ life demonstrates God’s love for us..  Visit the VBS Next Steps table in the Gathering Place Thursday and Sunday, June 1 and 4, and discover how you can  participate. You may also register children to attend VBS or select an item from the colorful tag boards to donate and support the ministry.

UPPER SAND MOUNTAIN MISSION TRIP June 18-24
Our mission team leaves for Alabama on June 18, serving for a week with the Upper Sand community and returning June 24. The trip is made possible by your donations to the Faith Promise fund at church.  Please pray for the team members, the community of people at USM, and the work that will be accomplished through our combined efforts. We ask God’s blessings on relationships that will be made and the many ways we can share Jesus’ grace and love.


JUBILEE’S CHRISTMAS IN JULY – HOMECROFT OPPORTUNITIES
The Jubilee Christmas Ministry will be offering an opportunity to support the children and  families from Homecroft Elementary School during Christmas in July.  Visit the ministry table on Thursdays and Sundays in July and discover some of the ways we can provide essentials for the children as they start back to school. If you enjoy hands-on experiences, there will be information about serving at the school in a variety of ways. We are blessed to be in partnership with the Homecroft community and God continues to open new doors in order to share His love with others.

Dear Friends,            I am excited about the many things that are happening at Southport UMC this month.   There are many things going on at Southport UMC as we continue in ministry to the Southside of Indianapolis, but I would like to highlight a few opportunities, as well as share some information about changes that are coming this month. First of all, because of storm damage we are getting a new roof. This work will begin after September 8 and will take around a week to complete (weather permitting). Secondly, we will begin signups for Journey Groups this month, and I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to grow in your faith through a small group. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
