Journey Groups for the Summer



It is time again to continue our journey by growing in our faith in Christ and by making   connections with others that are on the journey to grow in their faith in Christ.

Journey Groups will start soon.  You have several ways to sign up.
· Visit the sign up table in the Gathering Place during May.
· Call or email the church office.
· Sign up online.  (If you have a login to our online system, after logging in, on the home page you can click on “Available Small Groups” to see all of the Journey Groups available.  The Journey Groups will show a picture and will allow you to “Join Group” online.)

Here are the Journey Groups for the summer.  More information can be found online or in the Journey Group catalog that you can pick up in the Gathering Place.
· Monday 5/12/14, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.:  Kids Gone Wild (led by Child Care Answers)
· Monday 5/12/14, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. :  Monday Night Women’s Bible Study (Discerning the Voice of God)
· Tuesday 5/20/14, 6 sessions, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.:  SUMC Leadership
· Monday 6/2/14, 6 sessions, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.: Son Of God
· Tuesday 6/3/14, 6 sessions, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Storytelling (Telling Your Story)
· Tuesday 6/3/14, 9 sessions, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.:  Generation Change (for youth)
· Tuesday 6/3/14, 9 sessions, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.:  Financial Peace University
· Wednesday 6/4/14, 4 sessions, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.:  Gods at War
· Thursday 6/5/14, 5 sessions, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.:  Sticky Faith
· Thursday 7/10/14, 6 sessions (offsite), 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.:  Go Fish
· Saturday 6/14/14, 6 sessions (every other week, offsite), 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.:     The Daniel Plan

A Letter from Pastor Chris

Dear Friends,            I am excited about the many things that are happening at Southport UMC this month.   There are many things going on at Southport UMC as we continue in ministry to the Southside of Indianapolis, but I would like to highlight a few opportunities, as well as share some information about changes that are coming this month. First of all, because of storm damage we are getting a new roof. This work will begin after September 8 and will take around a week to complete (weather permitting). ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
