MISSION TRIP – CAMP MONETO, NASHVILLE IN



Mark your calendar for Monday, June 25 through Sunday July 1.  We are planning a mission trip to Camp Moneto, a United Methodist Church camp.  We plan to do some work on the camp grounds as well as treat this as an opportunity to grow in our discipleship of Jesus.  Since Camp Moneto is located near Nashville IN, it will be easy for those that may not be able to spend the entire week to participate part of the time.  Families are encouraged to attend together.  Anyone in the congregation is welcome to go as well.  This will be a great time to serve others as well as grow in our discipleship of Jesus as a family, the family of God.  If you want more information, please contact the church office.

Dear Friends,            I am excited about the many things that are happening at Southport UMC this month.   There are many things going on at Southport UMC as we continue in ministry to the Southside of Indianapolis, but I would like to highlight a few opportunities, as well as share some information about changes that are coming this month. First of all, because of storm damage we are getting a new roof. This work will begin after September 8 and will take around a week to complete (weather permitting). Secondly, we will begin signups for Journey Groups this month, and I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to grow in your faith through a small group. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

You may or may not know that in the past, Southport United Methodist Church has been able to offer a small scholarship to assist with college expenses.   The scholarship was made possible by some past members of SUMC:   Mary & Riley Lynch. We haven’t been able to offer the scholarship for a few years but are able to do so again. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pastor Doug in the church office. Application deadline is July 15th, 2019.   A decision will be made at that time so there can be no applications accepted after that date.
